HOW PUNS WORK
Your weapon is a word that carries two meanings at once.
Not a theme. Not a reference. A specific word doing two jobs.
EXAMPLE: "You're FIRED" works against a forge god.
fired = dismissed from a job
fired = subjected to flame
Both readings parse. That's a pun.
The pivot word must carry both meanings simultaneously.
A word that merely sounds relevant is not enough.
Aim it at the god. A pun thrown as an insult scores higher than a floating observation. Don't describe. Attack.
HOW TO HIT HARDER
· The further apart your two meanings, the harder it lands.
· Hijack a well-known phrase or idiom. Make them groan before they can stop themselves.
· Two puns in one strike hits harder than one.
· Insults and taunts directed at the god score higher than neutral observations.
